No-code and hard code. No code is the future

NO-CODE IS THE FUTURE?

In 2023, the no-code technology trend is constantly rising.

If you've never heard of it, it's almost a spoken term. But not as easy as it may appear at first sight.

In three words: no high-coding knowledge

No-code allows you to make application software with graphical interfaces and configurations instead of traditional programming.

Surprise

In fact, no-code platforms generate, in the end, hard code. Which must be deployed, tested and debugged.

Basically, there are four stages, and they need to be repeated four times:

development, testing, pre-production, and production itself.

And every time you need to make even a small change in the application.

This process creates explosive complexity when the number of applications increases, which makes the full structure unsustainable except for big corporations.

The required changes are going in packs. Updates are done only a few times a year, and that leads to never-updated applications. Since the cycle between requesting a change and obtaining the change to become effective is very long (minimum 6 months).

There are two solutions:

Externalise the applications by using SaaS services which means that you have to use the application as it is and repeat the efforts to configure them. Then you will probably need dozens of applications. In this case, deployment and maintenance of the code are the responsibility of the SaaS supplier.

Generate the required code on-demand, on the flight (in real time), dynamically only when required, and always according to what is required in each moment by each user. Code is generated, served on the device, consumed by the user, and vanished. Changes are made without touching a single line of code, just by changing the configuration of the application supported by databases. This is how our DyPAS engines work.

Nowadays, many companies go for a no-code system because it is faster and gives them more flexibility. The testing process is automated, which helps reduce the cost of development.

Sad but true

Nothing exists without disadvantages.

For this approach, you still must have a clear understanding of the coding requirements. Furthermore, the templates and details that can be adjusted to fit a certain set of use cases are also restricted by no-code.

Control over the applications is taken when entering such a path when users face conflict with their no-code platform and want to change their service provider. And the change might not be possible or would be expensive since the users don't own their source code.

Even though we think this is one of the main tools that will continue to grow in the future.

In fact, we've been developing this technology for more than ten years.

How our no-code system works

The proceedit's code is created by our servers and engines only when the user requires it. Once used, it disappears.

 Main points:
  • It's made automatically in real time, in fractions of seconds after each user’s request. It reacts in real time to any change in the configuration and the contextual conditions defined by the customer.
  • Applications' contents are always updated according to the configuration database, so there is no need to maintain any code.

Other benefits:
  • Unified database and document repositories
  • Short-term preparation for the market release = 12 weeks
  • It is easy to make changes by hot-swapping continuous versioning.
  • Always updated applications Linear (non-explosive) complexity
